Nungar Boudja Plant and Animal Encyclopedia
A 10-year-old cat lover named Jonah learned about stray older cats. He decided to adopt and bring home as many as he could. Recently thousands of years of indigenous knowledge about Nungar country was combined with non-indigenous science in a special encyclopedia called the Nungar Boudja Plant and Animal Encyclopedia. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities have lived on this land for tens of thousands of years, they've learnt lots about the plants and animals that live there. The teams who worked on this encyclopedia are hoping it will help protect indigenous knowledge, language and culture into the future.
