Why Junior Doctors Are Striking
Junior doctors are striking for better pay and conditions in the NHS. The BMA says junior doctors are not worth 26% less than they were in 2008. They're starting their careers with more debt than any other generation of doctors as experienced. Nick, can you briefly explain why pension allowances have been such a problem for so many GPs and other doctors? Yes, annual allowance and the lifetime allowance on pensions has also meant that higher earners, especially those earning over £100,000 could face hefty tax bill.
