Works and Days and Theogony
Hesiod's Works and Days is a compendium of stories and advice to Hesiod's brother, Perseus. In the Theogony, which is about the same length as Works and Days, tells of the creation of the world. During this period, Athens produced many of the household names of ancient Greece: Eschylus, Pericles, Sophocles, Socrates, Protagoras, Euripides, Plato.
