Google pioneered the deep learning network. Now it's becoming very common. What happened is we are feeding millions and millions of stop signs to the Google network. So now, when you see a partial image, the machine is able to detect that it might be a stop sign. And assume this stop sign is broken. You only see S and T only. Can the car know? Does it mean stop sign? What does it really mean? Do it mean start? How does a car decide what that means? What that sign means? Human beings, we implicitly know what that means.
