There are many journalists who come out of TV news reporting to talk about the ways that when they went into certain subject areas, they were told not to pursue that idea any further. One example is Alison Morrill, who was working in the Pacific Northwest as a television news reporter but was unable to get into stories that affected the bottom line of the advertisers and sponsors involved. For example, when she tried to question or even present another side to the vaccine debate, big pharma would not allow that to happen. And thus, her editors would not approve certain stories, even if there was genuine public interest and a genuine story to be told.
