The Endowed Progress Effect
The endowed progress effect holds that we're more likely to try harder and longer to reach a goal if we think we've started progress towards it. Th video games do this all the time with quest chains for getting people started. The idea here is that they're giving you the quest at the same time that they are giving you credit for progress towards the quest. And it makes you more likely then, want to check that thing often and continue. That's a lot about goal setting. Let's talk about the second lever, which is feedback.
