The Eighth Jana - Is There Any Further Freedom?

Sariputa emerges from the eighth jana to do his reflection. He realizes there is consciousness itself, perception itself and he enters nibana. According to buddhism, if you enter nibana, you are a stream enterer. It seems not at all unreasonable that a person could access nibana this way. And if you ask, where is the progress of insight? There is no progress of insight here. This is an alternative method to attain stream entry via jana, from the lips of the buddha himself, according to the legend.
