Constantine's Council of Nicia
Constantine also oversaw the creation of constantinople, a massive new capital in the east where christian churches would be given a prominent presence. And soon constantine con convene the first ecumenical council. It was composed of represent natives, mostly bishops, from all these various scattered churches around the empire and even east of the empire. So this council of nicia was, you could say, the first open effort to work out an agreement on what the christian faith was how to understand it.
