William Jennings Brian and Donald Trump: A Toxic Personality With a Radical Message

In 1904, William Randolph Hearst decided to run for president as a Democrat. He represented the radical wing of the party that was embarrassed by Jennings Bryan's speeches about working people. The Democratic machine is not going to be very supportive of Hearst and so he decides to publish his own newspapers in order to gain more support. His message is deeply unpopular with financial interests but it's very popular with voters.
