I think our values connect up with like our identity in a way that helps us steer the ship. I was just coaching somebody about this this week who had this identity of herself as like the black sheep in her family right and she was going through a really stressful time. We have to first pause our brain for in our emotional brain we have to bring our thinking brain back on, he says. If you're not thinking about it all your actions are coming from that place and then you wonder why the outcome doesn't work because your brain is distorting everything.
