The Tent Poles of Programming

Don't program from your database program. Write code to the case that it's being done because then everybody can understand it. Build a mental index of the documentation so that you know where to go for a different thing. If you're using a library, you don't have to memorize the whole thing at once but go through the documentation and skim every single page.
