Luke records that Pilate sends Jesus away for a moment. Luke is the one who's interested in Galilee in Greek. Herod is not Greek, but he's not Roman either. And so he's more Gentile. There's been a lot written on this subject,. But it seems that Pilate might be concerned about jurisdiction.
