Economism and Revisionism
The split between orthodox and revisionist marxism really opened up after the death of engeles in 18 95. In particular, a german marxis named edward bernstein started making such drastic revisions to traditional interpretation that he was accused of not really even being a marxist any more. He went so far as to abandon the hegalian dialectical framework of marxism in favor of rooting his approach in neocontian philosophy. But his argument gained a lot of adherents in the 18 nineties, especially among those creating these new labor political parties That would go out and contest and win elections.
