'Cinderella Act'
After three years in hollywood and a number of hit films behind her, the cinderella act was no longer credible. Compounding matters was the fact that darnell felt defective as a woman. Her male biographer is very vague as to what was going on with her medically. She would say things like, when i do marry, i intend to retire from the screen. I want a large family, at least four children, but that won't be for years yet. As it turned out, she'd marry sooner than later.
