Why Supernovas Are So Dramatic?
In order to understand why supernovas are so bright, we have to think a little bit about what's going on inside them. Gravity pulls this stuff together and then creates the conditions necessary for fusion, which pushes back out. The energy from fusion, the particles, the photons pushes back out on the star. And that's why the star can burn for billions of years.
