The Middle Platonism

The didescalicus is one of the few complete texts to survive from a philosophical movement in the early roman empire. Before them came the sceptical academy, inaugurated by plotinus. And these guys have come to be called the middle platonists. The very name shows the lack of esteem they have received from historians of philosophy. They set the basic agenda for the platonism of later antiquity.
