Writing a Memoir - Can't Use I in Anything That You Write?
Sally Kohn: I once had an editor who forbid all of us from using the first person in any writing. Every time i turned in a revision of the method, i read it out loud. The three or four times that i sent it to my editor, i read the whole thing out aloud. She says she got sick of talking about herself as a writer and decided to kick her crutch away. Salkhoff: For me, the writing is more interesting if i don't rely on the first person.
