There's a tribe called the mandan tribe. I believe in their initiation into warrior ship is some of the craziest shit you will ever hear. The idea is to reach a breaking point where you completely surrender, and then you come back from that as a falken warrior. That's kind of the essence of the initiation. And i think that if we're all realistic with ourselves, we can see the value in something like that. Or it probably alleviates your fear of death in many ways as well.
