The Indirect Path From Nuclear Weapons to the Long-Term Future
T turbiole: A relatively small nuclear war that sort of really harms geopolitics means that a lot of other things go worse so this could like um make countries all much more afraid of each other using WMDs. He says working on nuclear risk could be helpful for building our expertise that we can apply to other areas stuff like that. Turbiole's rough sense of existential risk from nuclear weapons by 2100 is something like 0.5 percent, he says.
