Mike McKee: Powell was trying to reassure Americans that their deposits are safe because nobody's going to really let them lose a lot of money. He reiterated that they're going to leave rates at the higher level until they get some progress on inflation. The interesting thing on the banks, though, is that Powell was ready to say that Silicon Valley Bank was very badly managed.
