The Namahage in Tohoku
The Namahage is a traditional festival that's held in towns in Tohoku. It basically consists of the town's men dressing up in these amazing masks and frightening the daylights out of the young kids. The hilarious thing is they've done these amazing, the costumes are really beautiful. They go house to house in the village, frightening the children. And as they go, they're offered sake by the households, the households, and they slowly get more and more drunk and probably more more frightening.
