There's this really rich history of political advocacy here rooted in black churches. It pushes against our instinct that maybe the christian faith should be this private thing and if it goes out in public it's too dangerous there's too much messy history. But i also think it pushes up against a more like progressive tendency or even people who aren't progressive but have started to kind of think more about questions about pluralism.
