Are Neuroscientists Influenced by James's Theory of Auditory Hallucinations?
There's been great experiments done to show that learning takes place outside of conscious awareness and that much of our sensory information is all processed non-consciously. So yeah, those are some of the competing broad, what I call broad vague definitions of consciousness. But then to get back to your other question of, well, do neuroscientists, are they looking at, I think it was auditory hallucinations from the perspective of James's theory? And it's a little bit complicated because some of the earliest investigations into this right left temporal lobe interaction were informed by James's theory.
