Ron McArland heard a creek coming down the hallway of his home. He waited 10 seconds, then five minutes before he tried to get out of bed and open the door. There was no line or moment beyond which he felt safe; not after that vivid sound. The difference between movies and real life is that in real life I couldn't leave my place.
