The Status Quo Bias in Ohio

John Avlon: Abortion is a vote driving issue, especially for women and single women in particular. If abortion rights are presented to the electorate in an up or down vote, abortion rights will win. He says status quo bias was at work here because essentially what social conservative Republicans were trying to do was raise the bar for amending the constitution. Avlon: The idea that you want to go to the polls in order to protect majority rights, majority rule, and resist attempts to change the rules of the game.
