A lot of school leaders have been in education for some time. They're used to practices that were very embedded in the 2000s and early 2010s. The assessment is not seen as particularly high, so a lot of people come in not really knowing how to assess. There's maybe been a knee jerk reaction with COVID lockdowns: We need a standardized test.
