Iago vows to make him renounce his baptism and some productions by starring Lawrence Olivier have marked a fellow's decline as a visible turning from adopted Christianity. Crucial to this religious interpretation then is a fellow's last long final speech: "Soft you, a word or two before you go, I have done the state some service"
