Teotomi Hideyoshi, unlike Audan Obnaga, was born into a family of peasants. He started his life as a foot soldier and a sandal bearer for Nobunaga. In 1585 he was appointed as the Campaku, that means Chief Advisor of the Emperor. And later on he became Dajou Daijin, that means Grand Minister of State. His legitimacy was legitimized by the Imperial House. The time to eat the cake comes in 1600, the Battle of Sekigahada - this great coming together of an Eastern army and a Western army.
