As a child, he had this very difficult upbringing. It was not a lot of affection or love that was shown toward him. And so it makes sense that especially as a child that you do the thing that your parents or your guardians want you to do. So yeah, I think he kind of settled on an identity,. But certainly the way into that GOP machine was that they wanted him. They recruited him and they cultivated him.
