The American Academy of Pediatrics has many resources and education materials that primary care providers could access to use in their offices. Dr Kellogg, as a bariatric surgeon, you meet these patients at a place where they've been referred to you so they do have some awareness of bariatric surgery. The choice of the medication really depends on age of the child severity of obesity, their own health problems, whether they have diabetes or not. Some of these medications are oral and some are injectable.
