The Importance of Understanding Star Formation

We're working on this sort of in two directions. On one hand, we're like looking out there to see what's going on. And on the otherhand, we're building models or doing calculations to predict what we should see. Science is all about chasing down these details and getting them right - not knowing whether they're clues to a bigger mystery or just dotting the eye and crossing the tee.
