The New Coved Variant?
The w h o has chosen to name the new coved variants after greek letters, basically to avoid confusion. The way that scientists refer to omacron is b dot one, dot one,dot, five, two, nine. But who wants to say all those syllables all the time exactly? Other naming conventions can cause other types of problems.
