The Importance of Large Data in Advertising
I really owe a lot of my thinking to the people that have worked with that Critio. I was starting the third year of my PhD and I joined the Reko Jim project there. So Reko Jim is a purely offline simulation environment, which you can use to basically benchmark different algorithms based on banded learning for recommendation. And so I never had access to data while I was at Critio for the three months that I was there. Which seems very silly because I mean, you come from a purely academic desk and you're very excited to start working with real world data. But still we've made significant progress over the years. There must be value in them.
