What Is a Jackal Head?

Anubis was the God associated with mummification. He's depicted as having a jackal head. The reason is that jackals have very special digestive systems. They prowl cemeteries, looking for recently buried bodies. And when the Egyptians saw these jackals prowling in their in their cemetery, they associated them with death and then they became gods of the dead.
