Holidays in the Eighties and Nineties
When i was a kid in the nineties, not everybody went on foreign holidays. Not necessarily because it was prohibitively expensive. But before ryan air, we'll say, before the cat tiger for in, holiday was seen as kind of a shameful thing. In ireland, it was viewed as almost like a type of sex. There was too much catholic sham. We didn't understand foreign travel. It was too indulgent. So we viewed it as a type of sexual swinging. I think it was like, we're going to go somewhere hot and drink on a beach in swimming suits. And we'd be slightly knowed, drunk, talking to lords of other couples
