The Mark of the Beast and the Seal of the Lamb

The seal of god is represented as the name of jesus and his father. This may be john's way of communicating to us that this is the same group as the hundred forty four thousand. Theyare drawn from the 12 tribes of all of spiritual israel. Inwardly, it doesn't really matter if you're circumcised or not. The ext is deliberately contrasting the mark of the beast and the seal of god by putting the two things right next to each other. It's only the artificial chapter break that was added centuries later that keeps people from recognizing this.
