The Origins of the Idea of an Independent Nation

There was a brilliant scholar named Adrian Hastings who wrote a book already in the 1990s called the construction of nationhood. His thesis is where does the idea of an independent nation appear? He claims that throughout throughout Western history and also outside of the West, he claims that the ideal of an independent country appears when it's translated into local language. In every single one of them, the God sends the king to conquer the four corners of the earth. And why? Because that's what's going to bring peace and prosperity.
