How Do You Qualify for the Eldership?

In the church that you pastor formerly in California, isn't that right? Yes, yes, primarily there. What sort of things are you looking for as a leader in the church for a man who might have these gifts? How does he measure up against the qualifications of an elder in scripture? Obviously, we're not talking about calling him as an elder, but thinking about his godly character and maybe how long he's been a member at the church.
