The Four Roots of the Human Being

The human being is a multiple creature with different faculties residing in different organs of the body. Empedocles makes it clear that only the four roots and the two principles are truly imperishable. So no, we have not arrived at a soul here. Even the gods it seems will wear out eventually. The human being insofar as it reincarnates is a diamond, not immortal in the truest sense but at any rate outlasting mortal form after mortal form.
