Is There a Christian Slave in the Black Sea?
There is this kind of gradation of how captives become slaves, that becomes their status. But then there is another irony here, which you discuss, which is that sometimes christians did enslave captives who were also christian. And yet onn one level, it might be that they were a different branch of christianity. They were eastern orthodox, as opposed to roman catholic. That shouldn't in the sort of theoretical, philosophical structure of this that shouldn't have been sable or acceptable and yet people did it all the time. So if that's not just a certain number of the slaves, but actually the majority of the slaves,. is a problem.
