The Step to Free Childcare for One and Two Year Olds
Free childcare for one and two year olds is a really positive step, says Labour MP. But the problem is that unless you fund the supply side properly, what this does is to increase demand - which will collapse nurseries. A family of two could be spending something like 30% of their income on childcare in Britain. That's about four times higher than in Norway, Denmark or Iceland.
