Verses Telling a Response in Dialogue
The first one is showing, the second one is telling. Verses saying a response in dialogue. And this can be so much more potent. It really slows down a scene to have that much description about a character within dialogue. No two characters are going to see the world the same way or see each other the same way. That's true of basically everybody. So when it comes to showing verses telling, i like to ask myself, how, not, how can i show my reader this? How does my point of view characte see this?"
