Regan's Influence on the American Right

Ragan was the most successful republican president of the twentieth century. But he also laid the groundwork for the disintegration of that coalition which had put him into power. He combined populism with conservatism, and channelled anger at jimmy carter in the direction of the country to positive ends. In some ways, regan's success kind of warps our view of the american right - we think it's all regan.
