This week, as most weeks are, it seems like in 2023 had some pretty groundbreaking announcements and releases. And I think it's a good time for one of these episodes between you and I to just parse through some of the new stuff that is hitting our feeds. So yeah. One of the big things this week was llama two, but before we jump into llama two,. It might be worth just taking a little bit of time to highlight something outside of the stream of large language models which also crossed my desk this week. The latest version of NERF. This is work from Google presented at ICC V 2023.
It was an amazing week in AI news. Among other things, there is a new NeRF and a new Llama in town!!! Zip-NeRF can create some amazing 3D scenes based on 2D images, and Llama 2 from Meta promises to change the LLM landscape. Chris and Daniel dive into these and they compare some of the recently released OpenAI functionality to Anthropic’s Claude 2.
