Every single first week in January, just after the New Year holiday, there is a surge in demand. It's partly because GP practices are down to bank holiday hours and availability of doctors. And actually, hospitals were nearly 95% full before the pandemic. So what's happened this time is each year, it gets a little bit worse. The pressures are being felt right across the UK. These stories are coming up in all four nations. But this is fixable.
