The History of Intention in the West
Buddha Gosa is a very, very foreign idea to the Buddha sources that I've looked at. It's not operative in the Abhidhamma. Instead what I think we can look for the Buddha sources too is a very complex, finely-grained and intricate moral psychology or moral phenomenology. And that is a different kind of resource that we could look to than kind of dilemma-based ethical reasoning which has to center ethical deliberation around this notion of autonomous free sovereign will.
