Some of the people employed with these federal programmes had at some point been communists, and they openly debated lenin and trotsky policies. But as the director of both the writers and the theatre programme, alsburg and flannagan repeatedly pointed out, you know, w p a programmes were open to all americans, regardless of their political affiliations.
