A public database such as NCBI is going to have a lot of sequences in it. And so your analysis has to really look at what does my query against this database tell me this is? Here's an example of that: The brucella species all pretty much have the same sequence. Actually they're probably all the same species and that'll happen probably sometime in your future ID fellows just to make things confusing. But we know that clinicians like to know as much information as possible.
