The Relationship Between Yoga and San Ke Philosophy

Yoga is both a theory and a practice. The two are inextricably bound up with one another yes i agree absolutely um yeah that's the case. A lot of people think of yoga as just kind of the practical dimension of san ke but there seems to be parallels or at least resonances with other philosophical traditions within the indian context. For example patan jali says that the yogi has to be a member of the brothman class which it makes it sound like he needs to be someone who's educated in the Vedas. Another example is that there's this instruction to give up on desire in order to achieve liberation which reminds us very forcefully of buddhismabsolutely
