Being Curiously Afraid
Cows get very nervous when you introduce something new into their environment. They will slowly and cautiously approach whatever this ambiguous thing is with all their senses on edge. It's the same sensation that draws someone down the darkened alley, the poorly lit hallway, the long stairs leading down into the basement. This is a biological imparative that's built into us. Built into the curiosity that kills the cat, built into cattle that examined that strange presence in the field. We also have that built into us - if it's the thing that says, we watch the person walking down that flight of sar a, done.
